Mandarmani is a recently developed tourist destination, known for its serenity and beach resorts. Though Digha and Mandarmani are in close proximity, Mandarmani is different from Digha. Mandarmani is becoming popular among the tourists for its unexplored sea beach.
Mandarmani is a seaside resort village in East Midnapore district, one of the southern districts of West Bengal and at the northern end of the Bay of Bengal. You can reach Mandarmani by a highway
It is almost 180km from Kolkata Airport on the Kolkata - Digha route and just 14km from Chaulkhola. Mandarmani has a 13 km long motorable beach, probably the longest motorable beach road in India.
You can reach Mandarmani through buses. Buses including Calcutta State Transport Corporation (CSTC) or WBSTC buses for Digha, leave from Esplanade/ Dharmatala almost every hour. You have to get down at Chawalkhola and then take an auto-rickshaw / taxi to Mandarmani.
You can also take your car during the weekend and enjoy a pleasant drive to Mandarmani but try to avoid driving on the beach.
There are several accommodations including Sonar Bangla, Sana Beach Resort, Rose Valley, Candlewood Park, Eco Villa, Digante and Hotel Bijoy .
Take a walk on the calm & clean beach, enjoy the tranquility and listen to the waves crashing upon the shore and forget about work pressure. You can also come across few fishermen who do their daily duty noiselessly.
